Supporting communities

Real Communications believes in business for good and that’s why we make a positive difference by investing in our community.

We donate 15 per cent of our time to pro-bono communications work, which includes mentoring communications students, writing articles for the local business community and hosting a monthly radio show on Plains FM which empowers women to share their stories with a wider audience.

Improving the environment, particularly waterways, is an important cause for Real Communications. Real Communications is the principal sponsor for the annual Ōpāwaho Heathcote River Network’s World Rivers Day photography competition which raises awareness of issues facing our urban streams and rivers. We also support Million Metres Streams Project with their Silverstream project which enhances our local waterway with riparian planting.

Providing pro-bono communications services to non-profits is another avenue for Real Communications to give back to the community. Gina McKenzie served on the board of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) for five years as their media and communications manager. She also produced a series of short videos on Hays NAWIC Excellence Awards winners to help the organisation improve its brand awareness and communication.

Giving back to the community is an integral part of our business and we hope to inspire other organisations to be the change they would like to see in the world.
